Nextech Catapult @ Butler and Innovation Pointe

Are you passionate about technology? Do you like to build, create and innovate? Does the idea of networking with Indiana’s top tech companies interest you? Would you like to get paid to develop skills needed to launch your tech career?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then…Nextech Catapult is for you!

If you are a current high school student who attends a school in Marion County, or Evansville and surrounding areas, you can apply for the 2026 Nextech Catapult Internship Program, our immersive 5-week summer computer science program. 

The Catapult Internship Program will take place June 2 - July 2, 2026. (We currently have sites in these locations - Indianapolis, and Evansville (we also have a partnership with TeenWorks in Anderson and Muncie for the summer of 2026. For Indianapolis and Evansville area high school students (also, Anderson and Muncie TeenWorks students) who wish to pursue a career in technology, the Nextech Catapult Internship program is for you! The Catapult Internship is an immersive 5-week experience in the summer that combines industry-relevant curriculum, work-based learning and career readiness opportunities. Unlike traditional programs that focus on just one of these competencies, the Catapult internship leverages strategic partnerships with leading tech companies and community organizations to deliver a best-in-class experience at every level. Also, there will be optional events during the school year and during future Catapult Alumni programming. 

The result: Students develop technical and workplace skills, authentic peer relationships, an understanding of what a career in technology looks like, and deep roots for a lifelong personal and professional connection to Indiana.

Who: Right now, students who have an interest in computer science and AI, attend a high school in Marion County, and Evansville/surrounding areas can participate in the program. Also, students who are applying to or participating in the Anderson or Muncie TeenWorks 2026 summer program can find more information about the Catapult/TeenWorks partnership on the TeenWorks website.

When:  June 2 - July 2, 2026

Where: Indianapolis - Butler University, Evansville - Innovation Pointe

Cost: Free

Stipend (which is money you get paid) : 2026 Catapult Interns will receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion of the 5-week internship program 

Extras: Lunch and Snacks each day, bus passes to/from the program each day (if there is a route available to you), loaner laptop computer during the summer, Tech Industry speakers/tours, University tours, learning, fun and so much more!

Technical Skills: Design Thinking, Front end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), AI - including Python

Catapult is a fully-immersive computer science program for rising high school juniors and seniors in Marion County and the Evansville area who aspire for a career in technology.
