Junior Keeper Camp

Wolf Park’s “Junior Keeper” camp provides a once in a lifetime experience for high schoolers aged 14-17 interested in pursuing a career in animal husbandry, wildlife research, or wildlife conservation.

ExpID: 05131971

Junior Keeper camp provides a unique experience for high schoolers passionate about pursuing a career working with animals. This week-long day camp is designed to introduce campers to a variety of pathways within the field of animal care, such as a zookeeper, wildlife biologist, veterinarian, and more, as well as effectively prepare students for internships at wildlife organizations. Campers will have opportunities to engage in daily animal care duties at Wolf Park, which can include diet preparation and enrichment, as well as meet animal care staff and interns. This camp also hosts guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds. Past guest speakers have included the Columbian Park Zoo and NICHES Land Trust. Campers have the potential to encounter our ambassadors via delivering enrichment, but this is not a guarantee.

This is not an overnight camp. Drop off and pick up will need to be arranged for each day of the camp.

Scholarship Opportunities: Scholarships are offered on a first come, first served basis and are limited for each camp. Please contact camps@wolfpark.org if you are interested in a scholarship.
